Meet Cort at NAMM ShowJanuary 9, 2018
First off, we’d like to wish all Cort Newsletter subscribers a very Happy New Year! 2018 promises to be an exciting year for Cort with a bevy of new models that further expands Cort’s lineup and standing in the guitar industry. The new models will be officially unveiled at NAMM (booth #5215 in Hall D) but here’s a sneak peek at some of them for you to peruse.
• All New X Series
The X Series has been a mainstay in the Cort electric guitar lineup for many years but we are now taking it to the next level with design enhancements for a more sophisticated look, improved ergonomics, and increased high-frets access as well as top-of-the-line components like EMG 81/60 pickups. The brand new X500 will feature 5-piece Maple and Panga Panga neck-thru-body construction, Swamp Ash body wings, Ebony fretboard with compound radius, EMG pickups, Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo system and brand new Open Pore finishes.
• All New KX Series
The ever-rising KX Series has been infused with the KX500FF. What does the “FF” stand for? The KX500FF is Cort’s foray into growing the multi-scale fanned frets trend for extended range guitars (7 or more strings). Why does fanned frets matter? Essentially, what you get from multi-scale is longer scale lengths for the low strings and shorter scale lengths for the high strings, increasing the tension of the lower strings and thus providing greater clarity and punch in the low register.
The KX500FF features bolt-on construction with 25.5-27.0” multi-scale length, Swamp Ash body with Poplar Burl top, 5-piece Maple and Purple Heart neck and the highly revered EMG-707 pickups for a massive and brutal low-end punch as well as singing lead sounds and everything in between. Whether you play Djent or any other genre or style that requires the extended range of the low-B 7th string, the KX500FF will cover all your needs and then some.
• New Basses
Cort will introduce a few new bass models at NAMM but the one that will turn heads is the A5 Plus SCFF. Like the KX500FF, this model is a neck-thru-body 5-string bass with 35.5-34.0” multi-scale length, providing even tighter and punchier low-B. The “SC” stands for single-cut body for enhanced weight balance as well as a bigger and deeper fundamental acoustic tone. A thoroughly professional bass with boutique high-end features but without the boutique price, the A5 Plus SCFF is sure to appeal to the most demanding artists and players who seek the best as well as value.
• Other New Electrics
New CR Series and Sunset TC will also feature brand new models that continue Cort’s commitment to providing superb electric guitars with uncompromising quality and unmatched value in the industry.
• New Gold Series Acoustics
The flagship of the Cort acoustic lineup, the Gold Series is now expanded with the new Gold 8 Series in Dreadnaught, OM and Grand Auditorium Cutaway body sizes featuring solid Pau Ferro back and sides and Ebony fretboard. Pau Ferro provides a rich brownish look while being environmentally friendly but the untold story about Pau Ferro is how great it sounds. Punchy and tight while having a warm and detailed midrange, Pau Ferro is a perfect complement to the A+ Grade Torrefied Solid Sitka Spruce top featured on all Gold Series acoustics. Come check out these stunning new acoustics at NAMM!
• Other New Acoustics
Cort will introduce many new acoustic models besides the new flagship Gold Series models, including two new ATV (Aged To Vintage) Series models, two EasyPlay Acoustics, and various new Grand Regal Series (Grand Auditorium body) models. Stay tuned to see what these new models are when NAMM comes around later this month.
